Ranking February 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

3. Fences

RottenTomatoes Score: 93% (7.7/10)

Box Office: Propelled by Denzel Washington's reliable box office appeal and immense Oscar hype, Fences has raked in $57.5 million against a $25 million price tag.

Verdict: Though Fences has been rightly criticised for basically feeling like a play shot for the screen (which it essentially is), Denzel Washington and Viola Davis give ferocious, arguably career-best performances as a married couple hitting the skids.

It's incredibly low-key and is best recommended to those wanting to see two of the world's best trying to out-act one another, but the monologues are consistently transfixing and much of the movie's commentary remains enormously relevant today.
