Ranking February 2017's Movies From Worst To Best
13. A Cure For Wellness
RottenTomatoes Score: 39% (5.2/10)
Box Office: With a $40 million price tag, Gore Verbinski's insidious thriller opened well below expectations, and so far hasn't even reaped back half of its budget. Its evident cult appeal could make it a hit on VOD and Blu-ray, though.
Verdict: An audacious release for a Hollywood studio albeit not one that manages to spin all of its plates successfully, Verbinski's film is certainly an original, visually stunning film with solid acting and heaps of intrigue.
Logic is a little trickier and there are mountain-sized plot holes here, but if you're willing to give yourself over to its intoxicating power, there is a lot to enjoy. If you can put up with an egregiously long 146-minute run-time, that is.
