5. Joel McHale
Even though Community star Joel McHale is a less-controversial pick than Reynolds, he's still a tough sell because he's got a prickly personality that rubs some viewers the wrong way, he has virtually no experience in the action realm, he's not particularly well known to casual audiences, and he'd be in his late-forties by the time filming began.
He'd nail any comedy elements for sure, but his casting would also turn a ton of people off until they saw some actual footage of him in the movie.
How Likely Is It?: Not very. McHale is by far the least-famous of the actors on this list, and considering Green Lantern is already a tough, tainted sell to the masses, why make it even tougher? 3/10
