Ranking Jackie Chan’s Boss Fights

11. Gorgeous - Bradley Allan Rematch

Jackie's Role: C.N. Chan, a fictionalised version of the real Jackie Chan who finds himself embroiled in a rom-com scenario involving a message in a bottle and somehow finds himself fighting someone shorter than he is. The Bad Guy: Bradley Allan, who compensates his lack of acting ability and height with an encyclopaedic knowledge of martial arts. He was on Jackie's own stunt team before going on to choreograph action scenes in a number of Hollywood's favourite action movies such as Kick-Ass and The World's End. The Fight: The fight is nothing more than a pre-arranged match in which both combatants wear boxing gloves and the victor wins nothing more than bragging rights. It's therefore such a low stakes showdown that it winds up being nothing more than an excuse to squeeze in a Jackie Chan fight scene. In fact, there's nearly 15 minutes of fighting that's been shoehorned into what a simple 90 minute rom-com flick. http://dai.ly/xf9gh3 At least the producers decided to do the fight seriously, with both fighters giving an impressive display of acrobatics and high-speed choreography. Just a heads up, stop watching about 2 minutes before the actual end of the fight as it concludes in such a weird way, it almost ruins what few redeeming qualities the brawl began with.

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem. Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh. You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
