Ranking January 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

14. Lazer Team

RottenTomatoes Score: 50% (4.6/10) Box Office: With Lazer Team being crowdfunded to the tune of $2.4 million and Rooster Teeth reportedly investing their own money, the film is rumoured to cost around the $4-5 million mark, and pulled in $1,123,697 in its first weekend. Though it's the sort of film that'll play well on VOD and Blu-ray, it's also worth noting that many of the core fanbase have already paid into the movie via crowd-funding, so it remains to be seen whether it can become profitable in the long run or not. Verdict: Bound to confuse and irritate as many as it entertains, Lazer Team will go down far easier if you're already a fan of Rooster Teeth, and though it's pretty rough on the whole, especially in terms of visual effects and gags, it just about does enough to entertain thanks to its go-for-broke, hurl-everything-at-the-wall attitude. It's like a less-sexist, cheaper and more enjoyable version of Pixels, though audience mileage is almost certain to vary.
