RottenTomatoes Score: 33% (4.8/10) Box Office: On a $25 million budget, the troubled Natalie Portman-starring western grossed an hysterically awful $803,000 in its first weekend, making it both the worst opening weekend of any Portman movie, and the worst wide release opening in The Weinstein Company history. Verdict: Having struggled through a ridiculously arduous production (in which original director Lynne Ramsey bailed on day one and caused major casting upheavals), this western is neither the disaster many expected nor the masterpiece others hoped for. It's merely an adequate, if disappointingly forgettable jaunt from Gavin O'Connor (Warrior), for though it looks nice and the acting is solid, the narrative is generic western fare, and long stretches of the film invite nothing but ennui. It sure as hell didn't deserve to bomb this badly, though.
