RottenTomatoes Score: 73% (6.5/10) Box Office: This crime comedy may have been low-budget, but its $20,555 from just eleven cinemas (alongside an unassuming VOD release) sure doesn't indicate a hit. Verdict: Though a modern-day re-imagining of Mark Twain's iconic characters Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer could so easily have been a terrible idea, it's shot through surprisingly well by the Nee Brothers, who combine game performances with a witty, fast-moving plot to make this a quirky riff that really works. The Wes Anderson vibe is certainly strong in this one, but it also does a fine job carving out its own identity and keeping things lightly enjoyable. Well worth a shot.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
