Ranking January 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

19. Ride Along 2

RottenTomatoes Score: 12% (3.8/10) Box Office: Ride Along 2 cost $40 million and has more than doubled that figure already, as well as being the first film to dethrone Star Wars: The Force Awakens from its long-held #1 spot. It's on track to gross slightly less than the original movie, but it's still going to be a huge success, and near-guarantees the inevitable Rid3 Along. Verdict: Whatever you felt about the original Ride Along will likely be amplified here, as it's really just more of the same: Cube is the bada** straight guy, Hart is the motormouth funnyman, and there's a low-effort crime caper narrative shoved in there somewhere with a slumming actor playing the bad guy (this time it's Benjamin Bratt). Sadly Olivia Munn is totally wasted as the female addition to the equation, getting a surprisingly small role and being able to do barely anything beyond wear tight and/or revealing clothing. Cube and Hart's chemistry and comic timing together is undeniable, but even if you dug the original, there's absolutely no reason to rush out and see this.
