Ranking January 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

14. XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage

Split XXx 3 La La Land
Paramount Pictures

RottenTomatoes Score: 44% (4.8/10)

Box Office: With a hefty $85 million price tag, Paramount were clearly banking on the success of the Fast and the Furious franchise giving the xXx series a fiery restart. At the time of press, it's just passed the $120 million mark, making it neither an abject failure nor particularly successful. Don't expect Paramount to be quite so enthusiastic about greenlighting another sequel.

Verdict: The third xXx movie knows exactly what it is and delivers mindless, hilarious entertainment to that end.

Kitted out with a game cast who are clearly having a blast, absurd action sequences and fun banter, Xander Cage's return isn't smart or nuanced, but it's a fine dose of ADD-induced mayhem.

Just don't expect to remember much of it a week later.
