Box Office: Ben Affleck's new gangster flick came with a hefty price $65 million price tag, but due to a crowded late-December release window in the US, combined with middling reviews and absolutely no Oscar buzz at all as was originally expected, the movie grossed just half of its opening weekend projections.

To date it still hasn't made half its budget back, and looks set to be a $75 million loss for Warner Bros. Some have speculated that the film's overall performance may be why Affleck recently stepped down from directing The Batman.

Verdict: Capping off Affleck's highly disappointing year is his immensely underwhelming crime thriller, which he wrote, directed, starred in and produced.

The action crackles for sure, but the characters and plot feel mostly stock, resulting in a bizarrely tedious crime romp that'll soon be forgotten.
