Ranking January 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

14. The Commuter

RottenTomatoes Score: 58% (5.4/10)

Box Office: Though unlikely to score box office success on the level of Liam Neeson's more profitable collaborations with director Jaume Collet-Serra, Unknown ($136.1 million) and Non-Stop ($222.8 million), The Commuter has already doubled its impressively svelte $30 million budget.

No doubt there will be plenty of demand for this writer-director pairing to keep cranking out high-concept genre thrillers.

Verdict: You know what you're getting with a film like this, and Liam Neeson typically delivers another gruff everyman performance in this entertainingly silly thriller that moves fast and doesn't outstay its welcome.

Sure, the CGI in the final stretch is howlingly bad and most of the ensemble cast is wasted, but it's a bonkers blast while you're watching it, which is really what matters.
