Ranking July 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

1. Star Trek Beyond

Ghostbusters Jason Bourne Ice Age
Paramount

RottenTomatoes Score: 83% (6.9/10)

Box Office: Against an immense $180 million budget, Beyond grossed $59.3 million in its opening weekend, the lowest of the reboot trilogy but still absolutely rock solid. It'll do just fine in the long run, and a fourth movie has already been given the tacit greenlight.

Verdict: Though it doesn't quite live up to the standard of the previous two movies in every way, Beyond feels much more like a classic Trek episode than they ever did.

Digging down deep with its character work and giving the likes of Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin more to do this time, all while introducing a terrific new sidekick in Sofia Boutella's alien Jaylah, this is a Trek movie made for the old school crowd while remaining accessible to the neophytes.
