Ranking July 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

7. David Lynch: The Art Life

RottenTomatoes Score: 88% (7.4/10)

Box Office: The clearly low production budget hasn't been confirmed, and it's made just over $250,000 at the specialty box office, but of course, this one's all about those home video sales, where it'll no doubt benefit from the current publicity surrounding the director's Twin Peaks revival.

Verdict: Though it speaks strictly to Lynch die-hards, for those inclined, The Art Life provides a probing, unexpectedly intimate glimpse into the surrealist's formative years and the influences which led him to a career in filmmaking.

It's pretty low-fi stuff, shot entirely in Lynch's own house as he puffs away on cigarettes for most of the duration, but the unfussed construction has its own rough-hewn charm too.
