5. Spider-Man: Homecoming

RottenTomatoes Score: 92% (7.6/10)

Box Office: Produced for $175 million, the web-slinging reboot is just reaching the $600 million mark worldwide, a roaring success by any metric, even if Marvel Studios might be slightly disappointed that it has no chance in Hell of scoring the billion-dollar hit that has somehow eluded Spidey for his entire cinematic tenure.

The franchise is clearly in safe hands, regardless.

Verdict: It may not be the best Spider-Man movie ever, but for the most part Homecoming does feel like a full-hearted apology for Spidey's three prior mediocre movies.

While it lacks emotional stakes and visceral weight, Homecoming is nevertheless full of hilarious one-liners, Michael Keaton's villain is a credit to the MCU, and Peter Parker actually looks and acts like a kid.

It's no exaggeration to say that Holland is now the definitive screen iteration of the character, and there's every possibility the 2019 sequel will be even better.
