Ranking July 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

1. Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Box Office: Tom Cruise's $178 million tentpole sequel enjoyed the highest opening weekend of the series and the second-highest of Cruise's career.

It's nearly reaped its budget back already, and may very well end up crossing the $700 million mark before it's all said and done (which would make it the highest-grossing entry in the franchise).

Verdict: By a measure the best of the six Mission: Impossible movies to date, Fallout may play in a familiar narrative sandbox, but thanks to Christopher McQuarrie's outstanding direction and an inconceivably committed performance from Tom Cruise, it elevates the franchise to basically unimaginable heights.

If that's not enough, you've got a career-best Henry Cavill performance in the bargain. And yes, all that moustache hand-wringing was most certainly worth it.
