Ranking June 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

5. Spy

RottenTomatoes Score: 95% (7.3/10) Box Office: To date Spy has scooped up $135.8 million against a $65 million budget, making it an easy hit for Melissa McCarthy and co. The Verdict: Probably the best collaboration between McCarthy and writer-director Paul Feig to date, Spy reigns in the lame fat jokes and instead gives the lead actress an actual character to sink her teeth into. Spy never pretends to be anything more than a silly send-up of spy thriller tropes, and that it does with gleeful, reckless abandon. The real reason for the film's success, though, is its immaculate cast: Rose Byrne and Jason Statham are particularly excellent, and McCarthy finally feels like she earns her star status here. The run-time is a tad excessive, but thankfully the high gag ratio keeps it mostly entertaining throughout.
