Ranking June 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

2. Love & Mercy

RottenTomatoes Score: 89% (7.7/10) Box Office: The budget is unknown (though with a cast and crew this splendid, it probably wasn't cheap), but Love & Mercy has made $7.8 million to date. The Verdict: Bill Pohlad's second feature comes almost 25 years after his first (Old Explorers), and critics have been quick to praise the film for steering far away from the conventions of the Hollywood biopic, focusing more on getting into Beach Boys' Brian Wilson's headspace rather than ticking a checklist of milestones. Paul Dano and John Cusack are both regarded to have given two career-best performances here, with the former playing Wilson in the 1960s while Cusack takes the part for the 80s. Much praise has also been lavished on Atticus Ross' score, Robert Yeoman's gorgeous cinematography and the various scenes which depict Wilson working on some of his best-known and most acclaimed songs.
