Ranking June 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

12. Manglehorn

RottenTomatoes Score: 51% (5.5/10) Box Office: Produced for just $4 million, Manglehorn nevertheless opened in just 3 U.S. cinemas, grossing a paltry $11,227 to date, ensuring it's going to make nobody any money, even when VOD sales are accounted for. The Verdict: Al Pacino unquestionably gives a fine performance as a heartbroken old man in David Gordon Green's latest drama, but sadly Paul Logan's script and Green's unexpectedly heavy-headed direction do him and the movie's other fine actors (namely Holly Hunter and Chris Messina) no favours. Everything is spelled out too easily, there are tedious divergences which just pad out the run-time, and while a watchable enough outing for Pacino fans, this one really should've been better given the talent on hand. It is a wholly a case of an actor being significantly better than the movie he's in.
