Ranking June 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

6. The Conjuring 2

Finding Dory Warcraft Central Intelligence Independence Day Resurgence
Warner Bros.

RottenTomatoes Score: 79% (6.6/10)

Box Office: With a $40 million budget (double that of the original's), the highly anticipated horror sequel has grossed an extraordinary $240 million to date. While it may end up grossing slightly less than the original's $318 million, it won't be by much, and makes a third film pretty much inevitable.

Verdict: What a pleasant surprise it is to see a horror sequel that's not only good, but pretty much as good as the original. Yes, it's way too long at 134 minutes and a lot of the jumps will be seen coming a mile off, but James Wan's stylish direction combines with terrific performances and an unusual devotion to character development to make this a cracking horror flick.

It's hard to imagine any fan of the original not enjoying the hell out of this, and the creepy Nun antagonist has scared audiences enough that it's even getting its own spin-off movie (much like the Annabelle doll did after the first movie).
