Ranking June 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

15. The Mummy

The Mummy Tom Cruise
Universal

RottenTomatoes Score: 15% (4.2/10)

Box Office: Tom Cruise's $125 million monster movie had the biggest global opening of Cruise's career despite essentially bombing in North America and having the softest opening of any of the recent Mummy movies.

You can blame Wonder Woman and bad reviews for it not doing better business, but it's almost tripled its budget now thanks to international grosses, so this isn't quite the dud it once seemed.

Verdict: Unsurprisingly, the new Mummy movie is exactly as generic and tedious as it looks, failing to take advantage of a miscast Cruise's natural charm, while Annabelle Wallis' female lead is dull and irritating, and Sofia Boutella's antagonist doesn't get nearly enough to do.

Above all else, this is a film trying way too hard to sell a cinematic universe, with the desperation reeking in every single frame.
