Ranking: Liam Neeson's Action Movies From Worst To Best
6. Run All Night
The actor's most recent action thriller proves to be one of his most engrossing since the post-Taken career revival took hold, pitting Neeson as a former mob enforcer struggling to protect his targeted son (Joel Kinnaman) from a vengeful mob boss (Ed Harris) over one very long night. With tons of sharply-lensed action and an unexpected amount of character development, this is a superior action vehicle which draws attention to the actor's age and is all the better for it. Not only does Neeson get to do some of his better work in a while, but he gets a superb supporting cast to bounce dialogue off, particularly Ed Harris, who steals a number of scenes he's in. It's not the world's most original movie (many have compared it to the excellent Road to Perdition), but it's certainly the sort of muscular, smart thriller he should involve himself with more often (even if it sadly flopped at the box office).
