15 & 14. Clash Of The Titans & Wrath Of The Titans
Neither of the new Titans movies are owned by Liam Neeson's presence, but there's plenty of action, and his combined appearances in both movies (which are pretty much identical in their meh-ness) amount to a significant role in his recent career. Granted, his part as Zeus leaves him largely sidelined in the first movie, Clash of the Titans, most memorably bleating the infamous one-liner "Release the Kraken!" which has become a pop-culture mainstay ever since. The sequel, Wrath of the Titans, gave Neeson a lot more to do, given that the plot revolves around him being imprisoned by brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and son Ares (Edgar Ramirez). Later in the movie, however, Hades and Zeus end up teaming up to bring Cronos and his army down, before Zeus of course dies at the very end. Neeson does about as well as any actor could do with the relatively flimsy script, and certainly has the cinematic presence to make him one of the series' most awesome characters. Dumb fun at its most mediocre. Watchable, yet nothing here that lingers in the mind beyond that hilarious Kraken line.
