Ranking: Liam Neeson's Action Movies From Worst To Best

13. The A-Team

There's little point denying that Liam Neeson is perfectly cast here in Joe Carnahan's outrageous movie reboot of the classic TV series, playing the John "Hannibal" Smith role played so memorably by George Peppard in the original show. Neeson does a fine job in the role (even smoking Smith's signature cigars despite quitting smoking some years prior), and though the plot is utter nonsense, it's relatively watchable as a dumb action film if little more. Carnahan stages the action with gleefully manic aplomb, using CGI to create a number of thoroughly ridiculous set-pieces (most memorably the tank free-fall sequence) which, while far away from the original vision of these characters, was watchable enough if not exactly one to stick in the mind. Decent trash, with Neeson in fine fighting form, but hardly one worth watching again and again.
