Ranking May 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

8. Maggie

RottenTomatoes Score: 53% (5.6/10) Box Office: On a budget of $4.5 million, Maggie has scooped just $187,112 at the box office, though it's also the sort of film which may have done decent numbers on VOD given the curiosity factor of Arnold Schwarzenegger's role, and the fact that the theatrical release was so limited, opening on just 79 cinemas in the U.S. The Verdict: Even critics who disliked Maggie were pretty unanimous in their praise for leads Abigail Breslin and Schwarzenegger, especially the latter, who plays hugely against-type here as a more realistic, grounded older man caring for his daughter, who is slowly turning into a zombie. In what is unambiguously Arnie's first fully-fledged "arthouse" film, he more than rises to the challenge, being given space to emote and largely proving his detractors wrong. The always-fantastic Breslin is as great as you could expect, even if the film on occasion drags its feet and as such the 95-minute run-time feels a little long. If you're an Arnie fan and eager to see him do something a little different though, this is a must-see.
