Ranking May 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best
13. X-Men: Apocalypse
RottenTomatoes Score: 48% (5.6/10)
Box Office: The $178 million superhero flick grossed substantially below projections on its opening weekend, though has already easily hoovered up its budget and then some.
It won't be a success on the level of Days of Future Past ($747.9 million) as most smart analysts saw coming a mile off, but it's still going to be a rock solid hit all the same, especially compared to most other movies in the franchise.
Verdict: While acceptable enough as a big-budget comic book blast-a-thon, Apocalypse is far away from director Bryan Singer's usual high standard, turning in one of the very worst X-Men movies to date.
From the underwhelming Apocalypse to Sophie Turner's terrible performance and the general "been there, done that" feeling the entire outing invites, it's an uninspired film albeit one that never sinks below watchable.
