12. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising
RottenTomatoes Score: 62% (5.7/10)
Box Office: The $35 million comedy has doubled its budget to date, though in its opening weekend grossed less than half of what the original pulled in during the same frame. It'll get nowhere near the first film's final total of $270.7 million, but it's hard to call it a total flop either.
Verdict: Surprisingly living up to the original film's level of hilarity in spite of its fairly lazy premise, Neighbors 2 wrings about as much crude humour of its set-up as one possibly could, all while the addition of a feminist social commentary adds an unexpected layer to all the raunch.
Chloe Moretz is a ton of fun as the new foil, while Zac Efron once again bros it up with the expected enthusiasm, and Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are on-point as the beleaguered couple. It may also feature one of the best and most offensive Jewish jokes in cinema history.
