Ranking May 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

6. Cargo

Cargo Martin Freeman
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 84% (6.9/10)

Box Office: Straight to Netflix.

Verdict: Martin Freeman gives possibly the performance of his career in this beautifully shot, wince-inducingly bleak and ultimately affecting tale of a man struggling to protect his baby daughter amid a zombie apocalypse.

With Netflix's Originals being decidedly hit-and-miss as of late, this is just the fresh spin on a familiar idea the streaming platform needs. The world-building and general mythos leave plenty to consider once the credits roll, though you probably shouldn't hold your breath waiting for a sequel.

Above all else, Cargo is terrific proof that Freeman deserves more starring roles.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
