Ranking May 2018's Movies From Worst To Best
16. The Strangers: Prey At Night
RottenTomatoes Score: 38% (4.9/10)
Box Office: Though it hasn't lived up to the success of its 2008 predecessor ($82.4 million against a $9 million price tag), the belated horror sequel has nevertheless multiplied its $5 million budget more than five-fold to date.
Verdict: A run-of-the-mill horror sequel that probably didn't even deserve a theatrical release, The Strangers: Prey at Night squanders a talented cast with slack pacing, inane dialogue and a pronounced lack of suspense.
There's one terrific scene in a swimming pool, but for the most part the slick neon visuals and 80s musical selections feel like they're pandering a little too hard. Not awful, just not very good either.
