Again, this is a role where, like Face/Off, the haircut totally contributes to the character. Cage's sad sack weatherman David Spritz is meant to come off as totally harmless and benign, and a haircut as functionally low-maintenance as this totally sells that.

There's no denying that it looks bloody weird on him though, perhaps in part because it's so neat compared to some of his nuttier cuts.

Still, it just screams the desperation of a used car salesman trying to sell you the latest jalopy off his lot, and knowing that Cage just might lose his s*** at any moment (as he so routinely does) makes it all the more amusing.
