Ranking: Nicolas Cage's Insane Hairstyles From Worst To Best
6. The Punk (Valley Girl)
This loose (read: very loose) adaptation of Romeo and Juliet places Cage as a Hollywood punk from the wrong side of the tracks who hooks up with the popular local Valley girl (Deborah Foreman).
Cage gets away with this scruffy, feathered, highlighted, combed look for two reasons: firstly, he's young enough to pull it off considering he was just 18 years of age at the time of filming, and secondly, it totally suits the iconoclastic nature of his character.
Granted, Cage never really attempted the style again because it quickly falls out of favour once you get into your mid-20s, but for its intent here, it's totally fine.
