Ranking November 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

16. Suburbicon

Suburbicon Matt Damon
Paramount Pictures

RottenTomatoes Score: 27% (4.9/10)

Box Office: Even with a sensible $25 million budget, the Matt Damon-starring social satire grossed just $2.8 million in its opening weekend, barely one-third of initial projections, making it the lowest wide opening of Damon's career. To date, it's made just over $5 million. A dud.

Verdict: What a crushing disappointment the latest directorial effort from George Clooney is. Though the premise is loaded with tragi-comic potential and the cast is certainly up for it, long stretches of Suburbicon are weirdly boring, and it's easy to suspect that the Coen Brothers' original script was severely watered down by Clooney and his writing partner Grant Heslov.

It's quite the fall of grace for a movie many originally earmarked as a major Oscar contender. At least Oscar Isaac was great in it...
