Ranking November 2018's Movies From Worst To Best
12. Suspiria

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 62% (6.6/10)
Box Office: Luca Guadagnino's $20 million art-house horror has cracked just $4 million worldwide from the specialty box office after a month on release.
Suspiria's limited release did at leasy allow it to score the highest screen-average box office launch of the year, and clearly it'll be doing most of its business on the VOD circuit in a few months' time.
Verdict: A wilfully divisive film that sensibly diverges from the style and tone of Dario Agento's classic original, Suspiria is almost suffocatingly atmospheric and terrifically acted - especially by Tilda Swinton, playing three roles throughout the film - even if it suffers from brutal pacing and a misjudged third act.
If you're a fan of patient, slow-burn, character-driven drama, there's a lot here to enjoy. You most certainly need to be in the mood for it, though, and it's clear that Guadagnino doesn't quite have the filmmaking know-how to sufficiently execute all of his ideas.
