Ranking October 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

4. Bridge Of Spies

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92% (7.7/10) Box Office: Steven Spielberg's latest opened on the lower end of analysts' projections and has grossed $57.5 million against a $40 million budget. Not a huge hit for the legendary filmmaker, then, but it's still yet to come out in many countries, and home video sales will easily push this one far into the black, especially with all the inevitable Oscar buzz next year. The Verdict: Spielberg working from a Coen Brothers script is very much a dream come true, coming together to craft a classically old-fashioned historical thriller that gives Tom Hanks one of his best roles of the last few years. Yes, it's not exactly excitement a minute and is probably a bit too long, but Bridge of Spies tells a riveting, important and relevant tale of tricky international relations, exemplified by Mark Rylance's Oscar-worthy work as Soviet intelligence officer Rudolf Abel. It may not end up among Spielberg's best-beloved classics, but it's yet another solid effort that's surely in the awards conversation in most major categories.
