Ranking October 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

18. Pan

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 26% (4.5/10) Box Office: With a huge $150 million price tag which goes up to an estimated $250-275 million when including marketing, Pan needed to hit hard right out of the gate, but instead landed beneath projections, and to date has made only $107.8 million, making it one of the year's biggest bombs. The Verdict: Hugh Jackman in particular tries his hardest with a wildly off-the-rails performance, but he can't do much to save a film that virtually defines style over substance, but even then, the style isn't so much impressive as it is aggressively exhausting, sucking the soul out of everything around it. The tone is a mess (the contemporary songs from Nirvana and The Ramones were a bad choice), the majority of the performances are boring (save for Jackman and Garrett Hedlund), it arguably takes too many liberties with the source material, the set-pieces are clumsy, and you'll probably feel like you need a long nap once it's all over. A perfect example of too much money and not enough ideas, sadly.
