Ranking October 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

4. The Meyerowitz Stories

The Meyerowitz Stories Adam Sandler Dustin Hoffman Noah Baumbach
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 93% (7.7/10)

Box Office: Noah Baumbach's latest drama went straight-to-Netflix.

Verdict: Baumbach's new film about privileged white upper class people won't do much to dissuade his haters, but it's certainly one of his funniest and most heartfelt works in recent memory, and benefits tremendously from the efforts of an incredible cast.

Adam Sandler does his best work in years here, with Baumbach leaning into his famous angry persona while also subtly subverting it. Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller are also terrific, and as far as Netflix Originals are concerned, it's surely one of the best and most awards-friendly to date.
