Box Office: Timely subject matter and buzz for Chloƫ Grace Moretz's performance sadly hasn't translated into box office gravy here, with the gay conversion drama netting just $1.4 million after many weeks on release worldwide.

Its ultra-limited release is certainly to blame, though with the awards hype mostly fizzled out by this point, it's unlikely VOD profits will make it successful either.

Verdict: An extremely low-key, unassuming drama which nevertheless gives Moretz the floor to deliver the most impressive performance of her career to date, with strong support from John Gallagher, Sasha Lane, Forrest Goodluck and Jennifer Ehle.

The spare approach does sometimes make the emotional peaks feel a little more muted than they probably should be, but if you're in the market for a quietly affecting drama about a timely issue, look no further.
