Ranking September 2018's Movies From Worst To Best

16. King Of Thieves

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 32% (4.9/10)

Box Office: Despite an all-star cast and fascinating real-life basis, this adaptation of the 2015 Hatton Garden robbery has scooped just $4.8 million from the U.K., which probably doesn't even cover the actors' salaries.

Verdict: A totally watchable yet entirely unremarkable movie about a thrilling true story, King of Thieves finds a game cast teamed with rock solid director James Marsh (Man on Wire, The Theory of Everything), yet hampered at all times by a thoroughly boilerplate screenplay.

From the flat cinematography to the inconsistent pacing, it's a totally middling movie from start to finish, no matter the charms of the central old codgers (especially a shockingly imposing Jim Broadbent).
