Many people thought that we'd be on the brink of Spider-Man saturation when Tom Holland's debut in Captain America: Civil War made him the third actor to star as the wall-crawler on the big screen in less than ten years, but now the MCU's Peter Parker is firmly established as perhaps the best interpretation yet, as well as one of the franchise's marquee names.

Homecoming is a great movie in its own right, but the world-building required to slot Spider-Man into the established continuity saw director Jon Watts forced to keep the shackles on to a certain extent, but the sequel was a bigger, badder and altogether better beast.

The shadow of Tony Stark looms large over the whole movie, but it never distracts from the story being told despite his heavy unseen influence, and the entire cast feel a lot more comfortable in their roles the second time around, in what became the first ever Spidey film to reach the billion dollar mark at the box office.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
