Ranking The Best Movie In Every Major Comic Book Franchise

16. Wonder Woman

This year's Wonder Woman 1984 sees Diana Prince become the first of the DCEU's superheroes to get their own sequel, which seems a little surprising for a franchise that's already eight movies deep.

Patty Jenkins' first installment might suffer a little from adopting the in-house aesthetic established during the Zack Snyder era, and the whole thing threatens to fall apart in a messy third act full of sub-par CGI that sees the overall quality take an alarming nosedive, but for 95% of the running time Wonder Woman is a triumph.

Empowering without being cloying, earnest without being cheesy and a successful hybrid of origin story, period piece and superhero blockbuster, Gal Gadot's title heroine quickly found herself positioned as the DCEU's most prominent hero after the other two members of the Holy Trinity failed to attain the same level of critical acclaim.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
