Ranking: The Biggest Protagonists From 2016's Summer Blockbusters
14. Sir Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel) - Warcraft
The Role: The human military commander of Stormwind Kingdom, who will do whatever it takes to protect his people from the orcs.
Let's face it: the human characters were always going to pale in comparison to the far more imaginative orc renderings, though that still doesn't really excuse how stamina-drainingly dull Anduin in particular is.
Sure, it doesn't help in the slightest that almost every human actor in the movie is crudely composited against unconvincing backgrounds and has to contend with cheap, plastic-looking props, but even in terms of pure story, it's overloaded with rampant exposition, and it's tough to really give a s*** about any of them.
Anduin is yet another example of a generic, block-of-wood, everyman protagonist intended to sell a complex concept to as broad an audience as possible...and failing.
