10. Dominic Toretto - The Fate Of The Furious

It's probably reasonable and sensible not to expect much in the way of interesting character development when a movie franchise hits its eighth installment, but credit where it's due, The Fate of the Furious did at least add an interesting wrinkle to the life of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel).

The marketing played-up the idea that Dom had turned on his team, and though it was hilariously obvious that he was being manipulated behind-the-scenes by antagonist Cipher (Charlize Theron), it was still goofy fun to see him fighting against his own "family".

In the end, of course, it turns out he was doing so in order to protect Elena and the infant son they had together, and soon enough he's back fighting alongside his family against Cipher.

You can certainly argue that Dom generally isn't nearly as engaging as the ensemble cast surrounding him, especially Dwayne Johnson, but at least he was given a little more to do this time than just grumble and drink Coronas.
