3. SSR And Smithsonian Golden Age Uniform

The first glimpse of the SSR uniform in Captain America: The First Avenger is the first time anyone realized this American icon can now be fully realized on the big screen.

When a slightly modified version of the attire appeared again in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was a welcome return to form. Every iconic element of the classic comics design is reflected to have a sense of real-world practicality of why Steve is wearing it on the battlefield with materials that could be found in the 1940s.

The mask is not just a mask; it is a realistic hard soldier’s helmet that goes all the way to his eyes. Military men usually paint on their helmets, so the "A" and the wings make sense. The blue part of his upper body is now heavily padded armor over a white uniform. The red stripes on his abs are now red straps to hold his upper gear together. It has earthly brown leather gloves, boots, and a utility belt. To add to the realism, it is slightly baggy and has wrinkles. The shield is made to look heavy and metallic so that it no longer feels like a kid’s toy but a serious weapon.

Seeing all the elements as a unit, this creation is a marvel of out-of-the-box thinking. It is one of the biggest leaps in how to do superheroes right for the camera.
