Ranking The Super Bowl Movie Trailers From Worst To Best

9. Logan

Anticipation levels are already high for Hugh Jackman's final outing as Wolverine, and it is being released in a matter of weeks so it was a smart move to remind people so close to its premiere. And equally, it was a smart move to make sure this trailer doesn't give anything else away in terms of plot or spoilers.

However, as a trailer it's not particularly impactful, especially compared to the previous trailers that were excellent at evoking atmosphere and focusing on the emotional intensity of the film. It is not a failure, but if viewers weren't already excited to see Logan, this preview won't do much to persuade them to check the film out.

The rendition of Amazing Grace is off-putting for its distortion, and some of the pacing of the edit feels odd. Whilst it is nice to see a new look at Stephen Merchant's Caliban, the trailer really is not as intense as it aims to be and in some ways feels a bit generic.

But there is only so much that a trailer can evoke in 30 seconds, and it serves as a reminder that the film is coming out soon. Intrigued viewers can go and check out the superior full-length trailers instead.
