Ranking The Super Bowl Movie Trailers From Worst To Best
8. Ghost In The Shell
In terms of visuals, this spot is striking and certainly stands out, but like the longer trailers it doesn't do a great deal to entice the viewer enough to anticipate its release if they weren't already.
This spot has the same problem as Logan's, even if it is a little more intriguing and the best-looking trailer of the lot. Although despite the voiceover, its lack of plot and random collection of good-looking clips results in something that doesn't feel very confident or particularly clear. In addition, the sound design and music is irritating and blatantly an attempt to get the viewer's attention since the flow of the edit doesn't seem natural.
One imagines this is trying to appeal to the nerdy crowd, and does little to attract the massive audience who were watching the Big Game. Scarlett Johansson is the only recognizable and appealing factor that would draw the average viewer to look into the film, or more importantly buy a ticket.
Like Baywatch, it lacks that one stand-out moment that will set social media ablaze. However, by being flashy it understands how to make the best use of such a short running time within which to advertise the film.
