Ranking Tom Hardy's Accents From Weird To Really Weird

1. Bane - The Dark Knight Rises

Was there really another choice for weirdest Tom Hardy accent? After all, Hardy's downright insane voice choice for his Batman villain, Bane, created a cultural storm of the highest order. People were utterly obsessed with Bane's accent for well over a year after The Dark Knight Rises came out - it was all people could talk about, spouting countless controversies, memes and moments of genuine bafflement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecWdQoHfLV0 Not at all surprising, really, given that Bane's accent really does stand as one of the strangest voices ever committed to the cinematic medium. Like Rex Harrison on acid, Bane's vocals are so idiosyncratic - so crammed with shades of black and white - that it's impossible to figure out what the hell is happening deep inside Tom Hardy's throat. It's also very dandy-like and somewhat camp, and makes almost no sense given the context of Bane's character - as a man who grew up in an underground prison. Still, who cares? Bane's accent is hilarious - the definitive weird accent from an actor who has come to define weird accents... and will hopefully continue to do so, forever more (please!).
