Ranking Tom Hardy's Accents From Weird To Really Weird
3. Ivan Locke - Locke
Tom Hardy is supposed to be doing a Welsh accent in the car-based drama movie Locke - something he insisted on despite it not being in the script, mind you. At first, the accent sounds somewhat convincing, and then, after a few minutes of hearing Locke speak, the accent loses it way, and begins to sound almost Eastern European. There are so many facades to this voice that Locke essentially becomes a movie in which you try to figure out whether Tom Hardy is doing a convincing Welsh accent or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtpnNuvCA2k Occasionally Hardy's accent changes to "weird, posh Englishman," for no reason. Once you've trained your ear to hear him doing it, it's totally impossible to not hear it forever. Not to mention that every now and again he also appears to have spent time in Bangladesh.
