As is annual tradition, the Golden Raspberry Awards were announced the day prior to the Oscars, "honouring" the apparent worst offerings in cinema over the last 12 months.

And as amusing as the Razzies are, the voting body - which consists of anyone who pays a membership fee, by the way - has a habit of picking some head-scratching winners, and 2019 was certainly no exception.

This year Razzie voters clearly directed too much of their ire at a certain high-profile critical punching bag rather than actually bestowing gold statues upon the real worst movie of the five nominees.

Elsewhere some lazy pot-shots were taken at a certain Head of State, reducing what should be a fun antithesis to the Oscars to a jumbled mess of ideas and "jokes" that fell rather flat.

Nobody wants the Razzies to take themselves seriously, but at the same time, this is the cost paid by allowing literally anyone from the general public to vote on, well, just about anything...
