Razzies 2019: 7 Winners That Make No Sense

1. Worst Screenplay - Fifty Shades Freed

Even people who like Fifty Shades Freed probably won't argue that it's a well-written film, but to its minor credit, it is certainly the most self-aware and knowingly silly film in the erotic drama trilogy, doubling down on the trashy soap opera cliches like they were going out of fashion.

It's too laughable to be the card-carrying worst of the year, really.

Who Should've Won: Winchester at least had an intriguing premise and a few effective ideas so that's out, and The Happytime Murders similarly has a few mildly amusing moments, while Death of a Nation is a documentary and therefore feels wrong to even be nominated.

This leaves behind, of course, Gotti, which is such a soulless regurgitation of effortlessly superior crime dramas it's the decisive victor here.
