2. Frodo - Colin Morgan
Colin Morgan made his name as the titular character in the show Merlin. A successful BBC series that had a modest following and was generally well-received. The actor was a fantastic protagonist in this show. He came across as funny, loveable but also serious when he needed to be.
The journey that Frodo goes on is dark and dangerous. Therefore the actor taking on the role needs to be able to reflect this in their performance.
Morgan is an excellent pick for this as his acting quality, even in its most goofy states has always felt natural. Being able to believably make the stakes of this situation clear would be an integral part of making a new adaptation work. It would have to be a big focus for Morgan, but one that he would easily conquer.
Frodo in the original trilogy was firm but always felt helpless. This is a direction that would need to be avoided if tried again, and Morgan could portray a version of the character that doesn't fall into this hole. Coming across with a purpose and mission is something he did a great job with in Merlin, and thus it is something that he could carry over.
