Recasting The Lord Of The Rings Movies

Boromir's position in the Lord of the Rings narrative to some feels like a dispensable character designed purely to be killed off. This, however, is a great disservice to the role. Boromir has an important place in the series as an integral display of the ring's power. Taking a character who (although prideful) is inherently looking out for the good of his people and allowing him to be corrupted by the ring shows the incredible influence that it has.

Boromir has to be well played as his conflict is the essential struggle of the series. A fantastic choice would be that of Toby Kebbell. Kebbell has played in many great franchises and customarily comes out looking successful. Notable roles include Koba in the Planet of the Apes series and his time in Black Mirror.

Whilst he also has some poor outings on his resume - Victor Von Doom especially - he has always proven himself to be a dedicated actor who is capable of some excellent action work. He has a sense of edge that would perfectly compliment the journey that Boromir goes on. This combined with his ability to feel important would work sublimely for the role.
